Which Season Is The Best For A Nose Job?
10 April 2020 onur
Each season has its unique graces.
So, which is the best season for a nose job?
Which is better? Hot or cold?
As a matter of fact, it is not possible to talk about an “ideal season” for rhinoplasty. There is no data in the medical literature suggesting that ambient temperature affects healing, edema, bruising and complications after rhinoplasty. It is a public misconception that performing rhinoplasty in summer is inconvenient.
If nose job was inconvenient in hot weather, people living in cities like Miami, Dubai and Rio de Janeiro, where the summer lasts the entire year, would have to fly to Canada to undergo surgery.
We know that not only the season but also the practice of applying hot or cold to the face after surgery has no significant impact.
The ideal time is when the person is at their optimum in terms of health, psychology, work, family and social aspects. It is perhaps why the two busiest periods of the year in terms of nose jobs are the semester break and the first 2 or 3 weeks of summer holiday.
However, it is impossible to say that seasonal conditions have no impact at all in the decision-making process. For instance, seasonal allergies may recur in spring and viral infections of the upper respiratory tract are common in autumn. It is not a very good idea to have surgery 1-2 weeks before going on high-action holidays in summer or winter. The key point here is that each person chooses the time when they can be “most comfortable”, taking into account their own constitution and social program.
In summer, you can go swimming within 10-14 days after the surgery. However, it will be useful to protect your nose from blows and strenuous physical exercises for at least 6 weeks. Unfortunately, those who love diving cannot wear those tight and heavy sea goggles before 3 months.
The effect of seasons on the healing process in nose jobs is very limited.
So, weather is one of the last things to consider when making your decision to have surgery.
Take good care…
… of yourself and your beauty.
